North American Nickel reports strong first assays at Mikissoq from the 2017 drilling program: Maniitsoq nickel-copper-cobalt-PGM project, Southwest Greenland
Listen to Patti Tirschmann, V.P Exploration, give a brief summary of the press release, the results and interpret the fundamental geology that lead to the discovery of the Mikissoq zone in 2016.
The primary objectives of the Company’s 2017 drilling are to demonstrate continuity and size potential of mineralized zones. The results this week exceed the best results obtained at Mikissoq in 2016 and have extended the mineralization by 60 metres in a down-dip direction. This new intersection is also instrumental in advancing our understanding of targeting the Maniitsoq style mineralization at depth. The Mikissoq zone contributes to existing zones at both Imiak Hill and Spotty Hill, all located with 1.5 kilometres of each other and known as the Imiak Hill Complex area.
Reporting of assay results from holes completed at the Spotty Hill, P-013SE and P-058 mineralized zones is expected to occur at regular intervals over the coming weeks.
